Close to the recently erected Chinatown Gate on Stowell Street, this glamorous restaurant and bar offers sophisticated Chinese food in relaxed, funky surroundings. The swanky interior is laid out on two levels with cool lighting, plenty of well-spaced circular tables and discreet New York-style booths with draped net curtains for added privacy.

The lengthy menu covers most of the staples, from deep-fried wontons to crispy aromatic duck via hot-and-sour soup, chicken in lemon sauce, and stir-fried pork with green peppers and chilli. There are also plenty of seafood specialities - including Northumbrian crab with ginger and spring onion or the signature dish of stir-fried lobster in sea-spice chilli sauce; also check out the peasant-style hotpots. Fixed-price banquets are extremely popular, service is on-the-ball, and the food is matched by a very creditable wine list with plenty of reputable names from around the globe.
