Kathton House Restaurant a Grade-II listed building in the village of Sturry, just outside Canterbury is the amenable setting for Neil and Gina Evans' intimate restaurant. A neat blue-and-white frontage marks the spot, and the interior is a pleasing mix of polished wood floors, smart seating and contemporary artwork.
Neil Evans' fixed-price menus make good use of local produce including Kentish lamb and Godmersham venison, although his food has a noticeable European slant. To start, there might be warm onion, leek and goats' cheese tart with apple and rocket salad or pigeon breast and chicken liver terrine with rhubarb chutney. Main courses take up the theme with – perhaps – poached fillets of Dover sole and mussels in white wine and chervil sauce or breast of guinea fowl with caramelised pear and sloe gin sauce, while desserts might embrace date and almond tart or hot apple pancakes in Calvados syrup.
Kathton House is also open for morning coffee from 10.00am Tuesday to Saturday, and there's a guest room for anyone who fancies staying over.

Used to eat at Gina & Neil's previous restaurant in Tankerton; it was great then and it is great now. Food first class, very friendly, efficient service and a great atmosphere.
Thoroughly recommend, especially for a special night out, and will definitely be visiting again.
