Review on Harrogate Brasserie with Rooms

Jazz is the theme and the main attraction at Amanda and Richard Finney's continental-style brasserie-with-rooms behind Harrogate's theatre. The frontage is adorned with luxuriant plants and greenery, while jazz prints, photographs and other artefacts set the tone in the three colourfully decorated dining areas.

Daily specials add a touch of variety to the regular menu, which offers standard British and international dishes along the lines of goats' cheese with red onion marmalade in a filo parcel, blackened Cajun salmon, slow-roast shoulder of lamb with mash and redcurrant jus, and pancakes with orange and Cointreau sauce.

Two-course early bird menus (before 7.00pm) are a great prelude to a night out. Note: live jazz sessions are normally held at the Brasserie on Wednesday, Friday and Sunday evenings.
