A veteran among Donegal's hotels, this one-time coaching inn has been run by members of the Kee family since 1892 and is still going strong. Once a bolthole for travellers using the old County Donegal Railway, it now attracts visitors from far and wide with its excellent accommodation, conference and wedding facilities and fine food.
The Looking Glass restaurant is a stylish dining room done out in warm tones with hand-made tapestries created by Arthur Kee's mother. Expect classic French-inspired dishes based on native produce such as grilled langoustines with garlic and Armagnac butter, best end of local lamb with truffle mash and rosemary jus, and chocolate fondant with crème anglaise.
Sunday lunch is a popular family occasion with a carvery, children's specials and live entertainment. Simpler food is also served in the easy-going Old Gallery Bistro.
