There are panoramic views of Loch Inver and the remote reaches of the Western Isles from the huge windows of this enviably out-of-the-way hotel - a godsend and Mecca for anglers, birdwatchers and those who simply want to get away from it all.
After a complete refurbishment the restaurant has re-opened under the helm of legendary Albert Roux. The restaurant makes the most of the vistas, and diners are treated to magnificent views over the small harbour and the ocean beyond. Chez Roux's menu focuses on traditional French homemade cooking using the abundant supply of fresh fish and finest ingredients available on it's doorstep.
Dinner might begin with marble of leek and smoked duck with sherry vinaigrette or a fish soup with rouille, croutons and cheese. Follow on with seared fillet of seabass with barigoule of artichokes and new potatoes or Buccleuch Rib eye, sauce béarnaise, 'Pont Neuf' potatoes. Round off with an Albert Roux caramelised lemon tart with raspberry sorbet or maybe chocolate croustillant with praline might take your fancy.
