EH2 Tempus - City of Edinburgh

A groovy new venture in the classic Grade-II listed George Hotel on Edinburgh's most chic street (postcode EH2), Tempus is an all-day venue that pulls in the city's fashionistas and socialites with its elegant and in-vogue lounge bar and its cool brasserie-style restaurant.

Exotic cocktails, fizz and refreshing beers provide the accompaniment to chat and socialising, after shopping or work (or before a night on the town). On the food front, there's a funky menu of modern and classic dishes often based on Scottish ingredients such as Buccleuch beef and Loch Fyne salmon. Expect the likes of smoked eel and scrambled eggs, butternut squash risotto, spiced lamb shank with lentils and spinach, and baked monkfish with Swiss chard, caper and walnut sauce.

During the day (from 11.00am through until 7.00pm) you can also get quick dishes, sandwiches and salads plus 'mini foods' for lids. There's usually live jazz on Sunday lunchtimes, too.
