Wiveton Bell - Wiveton

The Wiveton Bell is a charming 18th century inn situated on Wiveton village green opposite the local church, not far from the unspoilt marshes of the North Norfolk coastal landscape. The pub was thoughtfully refurbished in 2008 and the dining area is a light and airy space with wood flooring and ceiling beams, original artwork displayed on the walls, and in the evening candles flicker on the tables. Although it is known for its excellent cuisine, this is very much a traditional village pub, with a bar area where everyone, including your four legged friends are made welcome.

Its excellent food was awarded the East of England's regional winner of The Good Food Guide Readers' Restaurant of 2011. The kitchen makes admiral use of local produce, beef and pork came from the Stodie Estate and seafood is supplied by local fisherman, Mark Randell. Typically you might begin with tempura of fresh Scottish salmon with noodle salad and a chilli and coriander dipping sauce, followed by slow cooked Briston belly of pork with black pudding mash, curly kale and apple and cider jus. The menu changes with the season and there is always a daily special together with a selection of lovely homemade desserts and a reasonably priced wine list. There is a delightful south facing garden which is lit by candlelight and patio heaters and is a good spot for witnessing the spectacular nights skies with shooting stars, a regular feature of this area.
