The Michelin starred Jean restaurant located near the Grands Boulevards in the 9th arrondissement of Paris, is owned by husband and wife team, Jean Frederic and Delphine Guidoni. Jean-Frederick worked for more than twenty years at one of Paris's most renowned restaurants Taillevent before opening his own establishment in 2002. The restaurant has a warm and cosy atmosphere with wood panelling and red banquettes and is very popular with local businessmen.
The kitchen is under the helm of young French chef Antony Boucher who has earned his culinary stripes with legendary chef Pierre Gagnaire. Expect classic French favourites as well as some more modern dishes appearing on the menu, as in carpaccio of tuna with mint peas or veal with cumin and orange or slow braised pork that has been cooked for seven hours. Desserts are in the hands of New Yorker Alison Johnson, so expect things like chocolate sablé breton with sautéed banana and caramel mousse or caramel cake with pumpkin ice cream and orange blossom foam with peanuts.
