Restaurante Jardín in Alcudia is the showcase for one of Mallorca's rising stars, chef Macarena de Castro, she dazzles diners with her original and rejuvenated creations by taking traditional dishes and reworking them for the 21st century. It's a family affair with Macarena's brother running front of house while mum was responsible for the stunning decor. Our early predictions were correct as Macarena recently scooped a Michelin Star.
It's a suitably chic and swanky setting for dishes which are meticulously prepared with fresh seasonal ingredients. Flamboyant new culinary ideas are surfacing all the time as the menu works its way through the likes of red mullet with noodles, caramelised foie 'coca' and fried ensaimada with 'leche merengada' ice cream. Elsewhere on the menu you might find spinach ravioli with pine nuts, tuna marinated in Soya with a vegetable cous cous or confit of lamb with yuka and fennel.
The wine list is a majestic 200-bin tome knowledgeably garnered from all corners of the world.
