A relative newcomer on the Kent restaurant scene, Eddie Gilbert's is the brainchild of Jonny Dunhill who on moving to Ramsgate, saw the need for a quality fishmonger which he opened in 2007, the fish and chips restaurant upstairs followed in 2009 and is now among the select band of quality restaurants that is putting Ramsgate on the gastronomic map.
Fish comes straight off the local boats every day and it doesn't get fresher but you may be tempted by a 40 day aged rib eye steak or perhaps a Kentish hand-made free range pie, steak, horseradish & ale or maybe chicken & smoked ham. Chips obviously play an important role so local spuds are fried the traditional way in beef dripping.
