Citrus Etoile opened in 2005 a short distance from the famous Place de l'Etoile in the 8th arrondissment of Paris. Regarded as one of the fine dining restaurants of Paris, in 2006 Conde Nast Travel listed it as one of the Top 100 restaurants in the world. The setting is very chic and elegant with crisp white tablecloths, pale cream walls and ceiling and orange chairs. Chef and owner is Gilles Epié who at the age of 22 was the youngest chef to receive a Michelin star. He believes that food should be a cultural experience and wishes to take diners on a journey of taste and texture using the best ingredients that the world has to offer.
Menus change frequently and are dependent on the freshness of products that are available that day. Gilles shows off his culinary prowess with dishes such as warm quail stuffed with foie gras, crustacean broth with chanterelles and free range pigeon, foie gras steamed with green asparagus and fresh truffles.
Desserts are equally inviting ideas like New York cheesecake soufflé, homemade cream cheese sorbet and raspberry coulis or Roquefort, walnut and apricot terrine served with a mesclun salad.
