L'Escalier specialises in using local produce. When it comes to the basic ingredients Jens Dannenfeld sources his food locally. The fish comes from the Laacher Lake and the fantastically tender meat comes from the Eifel. The basement restaurant with its pillars and dark leather seating is a favourite venue for fine diners on the right side of 30. Melanie Dannenfeld has an enthusiastic and conscientious way of managing her staff who are friendly and helpful. There is an exquisite selection of wine which she knows inside out. Dining outside is also very pleasant. You will want to keep on coming back.
