Review on The Conservatory Restaurant at Best Western White House Hotel
The Conservatory Restaurant is located in the popular Best Western White House Hotel in the centre of Watford, just minutes from the local rail station and the Vicarage Road football and rugby stadium. The restaurant is light and airy due to its floor to ceiling windows and offers guests a refined dining experience in a relaxed and stylish setting.
Menus change on a weekly basis showcasing British and international dishes using keenly sourced regional ingredients. On offer there might be chicken liver and Cognac paté accompanied by shallot jam, or for the more adventurous there's crispy frog legs resting on a chorizo tapenade. Main courses usher in pan fried sword fish with sauté potatoes and an anchovy butter sauce or from the land choose Indian spiced lamb chops served on an okra and butter bean curry. Nostalgia rules when it comes to desserts, witness a golden syrup sponge paired with either custard or ice cream, or maybe choose the Eton Mess, crushed meringues, berry compote, Chantilly whipped cream and strawberries. The food is matched by a thoughtfully chosen wine list and there is also a comprehensive range of bottled beers.
