Review on The Garden Room Restaurant at the Grosvenor Hotel
The Garden Room Restaurant is set in the Best Western Grosvenor Hotel in the historical town of Stratford upon Avon, a splendid grade II listed Georgian building steeped in history, it is just a few minutes walk from the main railway station. The tastefully decorated dining room has a warm ambience and on sunny days diners can take advantage of their sheltered terrace for al fresco dining.
The kitchen produces contemporary British dishes that showcase its allegiance to local sourced seasonal products, with a menu that might kick off with smoked salmon and crayfish roulade, celeriac remoulade and bitter leaves or confit duck ballottine, spiced carrot puree, watercress, celeriac and confit yolk. Main courses take in rare breed rib eye steak, tomato, oyster mushrooms, twice cooked fat chips and café de Paris butter or from the sea you might choose the fillet of sea bass, samphire, clam, lemon essence, capers and fondant potato. Well executed desserts close the show with Baileys crème brûlée paired with shortbread and almonds or Belgian chocolate brownie, raspberry sorbet and chocolate snow.
The Grosvenor Hotel has 73 elegantly appointed bedrooms should you decide to extend your stay and enjoy the many attractions the area has to offer.
