The Tommy Tucker is located on the corner of Waterford Road and Moore Park Road in a largely residential area of Fulham. Taking its name from the Cockney rhyming slang for 'supper', it was opened in January 2015 by the same team behind the successful Claude's Kitchen, a short walk away in Parsons Green. The old Pelican boozer has been transformed into a modern contemporary take on the traditional pub that everyone wishes was their local. There's a zinc-encased island bar with high stools, and an open kitchen where diners can watch all the theatre of the chefs at work. Most of the roomy interior is given over to the dining area, where walls are covered with sheet music and a huge copper clock and tables are set on wooden flooring.

Claude Compton is the chef pulling the strings behind the stove having climbed the culinary ladder working at Petersham Nurseries Café and Michelin-starred Club Gascon, as well as founding his award-winning street food company, Green Goat Food in the summer of 2012 with Jan Smith. The kitchen places great emphasis on nose to tail cooking with meat butchered on site. Inspirational dishes that appear on the seasonal menu are wood pigeon, bitter leaf chop salad, berries and lavender or you could opt for their popular brown crab cakes served with lovage and roast garlic mayo. When it comes to main courses there's whole mackerel, horseradish, pickled beetroot, sea weed and herbs or chargrilled lamb roast with Winter veg and mushroom ketchup. Desserts provide plenty of tempting choices with choc, raisin and infused rum choc ice or white choc truffles, mulled pears and sourdough.

To accompany the food there's a thoughtfully compiled wine list, cocktails, craft beers and home-infused gins and bourbons. The Tommy Tucker also offers wine aficionados the opportunity to store and sell their own wines with a transparent mark-up on the price in their conditioned wine cellar.
