Review on Morito
Morito is the sibling to the established restaurant Moro, which is located just next door on a pedestrianised street in the middle of bustling Exmouth Market. Owned by husband and wife duo Samantha and Sam Clark, this delightful offshoot to their original restaurant which they opened in 1997, features a small cosy tapas and meze bar serving a great selection of authentic Spanish tapas. A small narrow room with counter seating set against a bright orange formica bar overlooking the open kitchen, it also has a few tables, or you can perch on high stools overlooking the street.
Among the delights that appear on the carte are dishes in the shape of tomato, fig and cumin soup; octopus, tomatoes and garlic rusks; chorizo bocadillo; spiced lamb, and date molasses. Completing the picture are desserts such as rhubarb, sweet labneh and almond brittle or malaga raisin ice cream.
Spanish varietals dominate the offerings on the wine list and there is an excellent choice of sherries.
