Ottimo Restaurante occupies a prime spot in the heart of Palma on tree-lined Paseo Mallorca, just off Avenue Jaime III with its upmarket shops. The restaurant has a large canopied terrace for al fresco dining and people watching, while the interiors are eminently chic with a modern décor in a palette of cream tones.
The kitchen works to a classic Italian menu using first-class seasonal ingredients that has proven very popular with local denizens and tourists alike. Cream of peas with ricotta mousse and tempura prawns or beef carpaccio served with artichokes and parmesan cheese might open the show. While main courses feature dishes like hake in a herb crust with seasonable vegetables or if meat is your preference there's duck breast in orange sauce with sautéed cabbage and potatoes gratin. Desserts stay close to home with tiramisú with mascarpone cream and Amaretto Disaronno or hazelnut flavoured crème brûlée.
Exemplary, focused service together with a wide selection of predominantly Italian wines, alongside a few Spanish bottles adds to the whole package.
