Review on The Harcourt
The Harcourt is set in the heart of affluent Marylebone village, a Grade II listed Georgian Townhouse that can trace its roots back to 1826, an upmarket gastro-pub that is part of the award-winning Harcourt Inns group.
Laid out over three floors there's five individually beautifully decorated rooms, adorned with stunning artwork. The Oak Room is a sumptuous wood panelled venue with a marble topped bar where you can enjoy Japanese whiskies. There are two dining rooms, The Garden Room filled with lush plants and the Summer Room with a high glass topped conservatory roof. During summer months there's also a lovely beer garden which is very popular.
The modern European menu overseen by Henry Harris features dishes along the lines of Atlantic sea bream poke, spring onion, soy, ginger, chilli, sesame seeds, coriander and cress or hand cut steak tartare amongst the starters. Main courses usher in homemade tagliatelle with mussels, clams, squid, garlic and parsley or from the char grill you could opt for the Harcourt burger, cheddar, thick bacon, pickled cucumber and triple cooked chips. Desserts conjure up vanilla panna cotta, shortbread, clementines and meringue or pear and almond tart paired with crème fraiche. During the afternoon The Harcourt serves their Fika menu, which is the Swedish term for a coffee break with a pastry or sandwich.
There's a carefully compiled wine list together with signature cocktails to complement the dishes.
