Review on Tast Club
Tucked away on a narrow street just off Avenue de Jaume lll, Tast Club is discreetly hidden with no sign over its door. Inside it oozes sophistication with a labyrinth of sultry lit rooms and spaces, reminiscent of a private London club. Enter via the cigar room before reaching the main bar with a magnificent stone vaulted ceiling and two glittering chandeliers. Opposite the bar are tall cream contemporary chairs set against small round tables, or book in advance if you want a quieter candlelit table in the restaurant.
The concise menu features Mediterranean dishes that can be ordered as a main course or tapas style suitable for sharing. From the raw bar there's salmon carpaccio as well as foie terrine. There's also a selection of thin tortillas with potatoes and onion or shrimps marinated in garlic. Other dishes worth considering are beef stroganoff, grilled octopus or Iberian pork shoulder steak. As for desserts think tart tatin or crème brûlée with strawberries.
The brief considered wine list looks to Spain for inspiration and there's also tasty cocktails on offer.
