Review on Molí de Vent Grill & Wine
Molí de Vent Grill & Wine is tucked away in a quiet location in the largely residential town of Campos in the rural splendour of south east Mallorca, 25 miles east of the capital of Palma. Set within a beautifully restored mill built in 1873, current owners Svenja and Dirk Wend took over the restaurant in 2011. The interiors have a modern setting with interesting artwork on the walls and during summer months guests can dine in their lovely Mediterranean garden, where their US-imported barbecue takes centre stage.
Dirk uses fresh seasonal ingredients for an interesting and varied menu with steaks and fish cooked on the grill, complemented with delicious sauces, salads and side dishes. Expect the likes of tuna tartar with avocado, coriander, wasabi cream and papadum or crème brulee of duck liver with apple calvados confit and toasted brioche. Follow on with salmon fillet in foil with herbs, lemon, colourful vegetables and potatoes or for those who prefer meat there's rib eye from Argentina or a classic T-bone steak, with sweet potato French fries and pans. For a refreshing finish opt for the lemon sorbet with rosé cava or maybe the lip-smacking baked chocolate pudding served with fruits and vanilla ice cream.
