County Fermanagh is Ireland's 'lakeland' - one-third of it is made up of water - and it's peppered with secluded bays and little islands, all clustered around the meandering Lough Erne (one of Europe's least congested lakes). Cruising and fishing are the pursuits of choice.
Even in the age of 'Modern Irish' cuisine, Fermanagh's eating places are still famed for their mighty portions, and visitors can enjoy excellent organic produce, grass-fed beef, lamb and free-range poultry in the county's bars, restaurants and - above all - its atmospheric pubs.
