Review on Harmony Hill Country House & Restaurant
Built in the 1760s as the residence for the owner of the nearby cotton mill, Harmony Hill has been lovingly restored by current owners Richard and Trish Wilson, who have converted the west wing of the house into a relaxed hotel/restaurant. Given that it's also the family home, the single-storey building has a genuine lived-in feel.
Meals are served in the cosy dining room, which has a traditional homespun atmosphere, thanks to peat fire, beams and high-backed wooden booths. Seasonal menus are based on fresh seafood, meat from local farms and home-grown produce from the hotel garden. The food is complemented by an international list of fine wines.
