Review on Beamish Park Hotel
Situated in open countryside a mile from the world-famous Beamish Open Air Museum, this independently owned hotel is ideal suited for business, leisure or tourist sightseeing.
Jazz is the theme in the split-level Conservatory Bistro with its contemporary Mediterranean colours, imaginative lighting, unusual fabrics and musically inclined photographs and figurines. The kitchen delivers an eclectic mix of dishes with lots of influences from near and far, as in fresh crab with pineapple salsa, belly of pork on Chinese greens with sweet potato purée, and peppered loin of local venison with fondant potato. To finish, there might be caramelised lemon tart with winter berries.
Just up the road is the hotel's own pub, The Causey Arch Inn, if you fancy something more traditional.
