Review on The Green Room Cafe Bar
Situated right at the heart of things, opposite the Hippodrome, the Green Room Cafe Bar has been serving theatregoers, celebs, performers and passers-by for more than a decade. Take a look at the legendary 'celebrity wall', which is scrawled with signatures, comments and doodles from some of the famous names who have passed through its doors.
Most produce is bought fresh each morning from Birmingham's excellent markets and there are menus and dishes to suit every taste and preference. Crusty bread sandwiches, bagels and all-day breakfasts are highly popular for a sustaining snack, there are salads and pastas for those who want something healthy, plus a whole range of brasserie-style dishes and chef's specials.
Typical offerings might include marinated chicken goujons with cucumber crème fraîche, baked monkfish wrapped in Parma ham with beetroot mash, pineapple and coriander dressing, and roast lamb shank with red wine jus, followed by Cointreau chocolate mousse or warm Belgian waffles with banana ice cream.
