Review on The Boat Hotel
Situated close to the old Strathspey railway line, this one-time station hotel has seen a lot of changes since Victorian times - although the views over the Boat of Garten are virtually unchanged.
Evening meals are served in the The Boat Bistro where the kitchen showcases rustic and seasonal dishes as well as reinvented classics using locally sourced ingredients where possible. A starter of ham hock terrine, spiced plum chutney served with toasted brioche gives way to a main course of fillet of John Dory, Mediterranean couscous, grilled vegetables and harissa dip. Desserts offer satisfaction with a sticky toffee pudding or choose the brulee of the day with cream and shortbread.
Light lunches of soup and sandwiches, chicken Caesar salad, burgers and the like are served in the Osprey Bar & Bistro.
