Review on Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar & Grill
A further branch of Marco Pierre White's Steakhouse, Bar & Grill has launched in the space previously occupied by The Capability restaurant in the Hilton Hotel in London Syon Park. Situated within a 200 acre English pastoral setting that has served as the country home of the Duke of Northumberland for over 400 years. The smart restaurant has a modern décor with vibrant banquette seating, including semi-circular booths set against crisp white linen tables, and walls displaying large black and white pictures of Marco.
The food is based around keenly sourced regional ingredients with the finest quality Scotch beef supplied from native breeds. Open your account with smoked trout tartare with toast Melba capers, shallots and pickled cucumber before a main course of coq and shrimp curry with fresh mango and ginger, buttered pilau rice, and coriander. Meat fans might opt for one of the succulent 28 day dry aged steaks served with a grilled tomato, watercress, onion rings and triple cooked chips or roast rump of lamb à la Dijonnaise, green beans, potatoes dauphinoise and roasting juices. To finish enjoy a classic New York baked cheesecake with fresh passion fruit sauce or the Chicago warm chocolate brownie paired with milk ice cream.
There's a carefully chosen wine list to complement the food together with well crafted cocktails.
