Review on Sugar Hut Village
An Essex offshoot of the Sugar Hut in North End Road, Fulham SW6, the 'Village' occupies what was once the old White Hart Inn in Brentwood - a hostelry thought to date back to the fifteenth century. A lot has changed since then, and the current venue is a mix of glamorous cocktail bar, night club, music hotspot and chandelier-lit restaurant, all spread over eight different 'zones'.
Sugar Hut aims to bring 'enchantment, mystery and hospitality to the heart of Essex', and it has been joined by the award winning restaurant group Mason's an exciting new Steak House. There's a choice of menus to suit a variety of dining options, including a first class traditional Sunday lunch. Among the starters look for seared local wood pigeon with Savoy cabbage, wild mushroom parcel and baby onion jus before a selection of steaks served with your choice of sauces or butters or choose something from the grill such as roasted hake, creamed potato, parsley and prawn sauce. There's an array of tempting desserts to finish, Baileys and white chocolate cheesecake or maybe a banana and toffee pancake served with vanilla ice cream.
