Review on Sukhothai Palace

This well-liked neighbourhood restaurant is slightly off the beaten track, but it remains a popular destination with locals and delivers the best Thai food in the area, according to one Mobile Food Guide user. Inside it is decorated in colourfully authentic style, with sweet waitresses in traditional costume adding to the beguiling mood of the place.

The full menu covers all the usual Thai bases, from soups and salads to stir-fries and noodles: in particular, look for 'haw mok' curry steamed on banana leaves and basil or sizzling roast duck with sesame sauce. Two-course lunches (served until 5.00pm) are unbeatable value for a fiver. Drink Thai beer, tea or something from the workmanlike wine list.
