Review on Greens Restaurant
Green is the name and green is the colour at this tidy neighbourhood restaurant in Redland, an affluent suburb in Bristol. Close-packed tables and white walls hung with contemporary art set the mood in the intimate dining room, where visitors can look forward to carefully crafted dishes in the modern idiom.
Menus change regularly and influences come from near and far - thus you might see crispy breadcrumbed octopus with radish & coriander salad and tartare sauce with sweetcorn and pea samosas with pea shoots, mint and chilli yoghurt. Main are equally varied, ranging from roast lamb breast stuffed with haggis with mash, turnips, greens, caramelised shallots and whisky sauce or courgette koftas with almond and tomato sauce, coriander rice and chilli yoghurt. Finish with a traditional sticky toffee pudding toffee sauce, ice cream or maybe dark chocolate delice with amaretti biscuits and raspberry ice cream. The sassy wine list includes a good choice by the glass or carafe.
