Review on QC's Seafood Bar & Restaurant
QC's Seafood Bar & Restaurant is a very popular restaurant situated in the picturesque market town of Cahirciveen, on the ring of Kerry. It was opened by husband and wife team Kate and Andrew Cooke in April 2000 and was a founder member of Good Food Ireland. The rustic décor with timber floors and tables has retained some of its original features such as the stone wall and
large fireplace. Andrew runs the bar as well as a yacht charter service and you will find many pictures adorning the walls, to reflect his interest in the sea.
Fresh seafood is the name of the game and the catch of the day is delivered from the family owned trawlers. Simple food, simply cooked, is the kitchen's hallmark as in pan seared baby squid or crab claws in garlic and chilli amongst the starters. Follow on with a seafood curry or for meat lovers there is seasonal rack of lamb, finishing with a traditional apple crumble. There is a pretty garden at the back of the restaurant where you can dine during the warmer months. Service is efficient and friendly and QC's has an excellent reputation with the local population.
