Review on The Cambridge Belfry, Bridge Bar & Restaurant
Handily placed close to Cambridge Business Park, the recently-built Belfry also boasts fine views over the lake and has its own spa and leisure club for a quick pick-me-up. The Bridge Bar & Restaurant is cool and contemporary in style, with rich colour schemes and polished tiled floors; also take a look at the specially commissioned artwork depicting the city's famous 'Backs'.
Seafood is a strong suit on the seasonal menus, so expect modern dishes like pan-fried fillet of red mullet with vegetable 'spaghetti' and caviar cream or roast scallops with shallot purée and shellfish velouté alongside smoked duck breast with seared foie gras, baby spinach and peach salad or honey-roast pork fillet with basil-scented polenta and Calvados jus. To finish, get lucky with the 'Irish Delight' (Baileys crème brûlée, pistachio brownie and Jameson's whiskey crème fraîche). The food is supported by an extensive global wine list. Casual meals are also served in Brooks Brasserie & Bar.
