Review on Le Monde
A Cardiff favourite for more than 25 years, Le Monde regularly packs 'em in thanks to its carefree informality, flexible way of doing things and top-quality raw materials - especially seafood. The restaurant returned to its original owners the Martinez family in February 2019 and it joins sibling restaurants The Old Custom House Penarth, Miskin Arms and The Priory Hotel Caerleon.
Char-grilling and baking in sea salt are favourite ways of dealing with sea bass, brill, red snapper, lobsters and other fruits of the sea; the same applies to Scotch steaks, beef kebabs and medallions of venison (which comes with port sauce). Start with baked mussels or asparagus with hollandaise sauce, and finish with excellent Welsh cheeses of something sweet.
