Review on Falcon Hotel
Owned and run by the Exton family for more than 45 years, this charming little town-centre hotel is probably best known for its intimate restaurant.
Welsh produce is at the heart of things, and the kitchen makes use of everything from Black beef and Pant Ysgawn goats' cheese to sea trout caught on the Towy by the famous coracle fishermen.
To start, there might be locally smoked duck breast with red pepper salad and balsamic dressing before braised shank of Towy Valley lamb with redcurrant sauce or a medley of grilled sea bass, monkfish, salmon and king prawns. Desserts range from homemade brioche bread-and-butter pudding with warm crème anglaise to raspberry crème brûlée.
