Review on Marco Pierre White London Steakhouse Co. Chelsea
The King's Road Steakhouse & Grill Chelsea, formerly Jimmy's, is now part of Marco Pierre White's burgeoning empire. This rebranded venue still evokes the spirit of an 80s cocktail bar/brasserie with its mirrored walls, leather upholstery, retro artwork and lively menu jazzed up with an increasing fondness for contemporary ideas. Following the change of the name, the menu now features a batch of grass-fed Aberdeen Angus steaks, plus a healthy showing of Brit favourites such as asparagus with hollandaise, roast rack of lamb and calf's liver with bacon.
Elsewhere, expect upbeat offerings such as cod tempura with chilli jam, slow-roast pork belly with watercress, red onion and lavender honey glaze, and steamed fillet of halibut with samphire, lemongrass, chilli and ginger. If you need any more encouragement dip into the list of desserts, which ranges from chocolate fondant with pistachio ice cream to cheesecake with blueberries. The restaurant incorporates a mezzanine and a sunken private dining table, plus alfresco tables overlooking the action on King's Road.
