Review on Lots Road Pub & Dining Room
A zinc-topped bar, red-textile wallhangings and splashes of colour set the tone in this re-born Chelsea boozer, Lots Road Pub & Dining Room, almost next door to an old power station. It's a buzzy, high-decibel kind of place, but there's an intimate alcove area off the main room is you want some peace and quiet.
One menu is served throughout the pub, and dishes change from day to day. Ribeye steak and chips or bangers and mash are good choices if you're in the mood for something old-fashioned; otherwise take a leap into the modern world for smoked chicken and pear salad with raspberry vinaigrette, pan-fried sea bass with a Parmesan potato cake and pak choi or slow-roast belly pork with crushed new potatoes.
Bringing up the rear are desserts like sticky toffee pudding, crème brûlée with summer fruits or banana cake with banoffi ice cream. Sunday lunch is a highly popular, all-day session, and the decent wine list includes plenty by the glass.
