Review on The Earl of Portsmouth
Originally known as the London Inn, this village pub was re-built by local estate owner the Earl of Portsmouth after a fire in 1869. New owners are maintaining the hostelry's reputation as a local favourite for honest food and drink, and as a venue for entertainment old a new (from dominoes, darts and skittles to pool, karaoke and theme nights).
The kitchen specialises in locally sourced food - including fresh fish and a traditional roast on Sundays - and there are always several locally brewed real ales on tap, plus Winkleigh farmhouse cider.
