Review on The Canal Bank Café

The Canal Bank Café, the latest incarnation of the Dublin restaurant formerly known as Dish continues to offer a funky mix of eclectic dishes in cool, unfussy surroundings, and it wows the punters with its fashionable attitude and casual demeanour.

Char-grilled burgers, New York club sandwiches, omelettes and tartines provide easy daytime nourishment, but the kitchen's world tour also takes in everything from Brooklyn meatloaf and moules with frites to leg of lamb steak with warm couscous salad, mint and coriander yoghurt dressing. Healthy salads feature strongly and desserts range from cookies and cream cheese cake to rhubarb and ginger crumble. Owners Gerard Foote and Trevor Browne also run Tribeca at 65 Ranelagh Street along similar lines.
