Review on Olive Branch Bistro
'OB' stands on a bustling corner where Broughton Street meets Broughton Place and it's easily recognised by its olive-green frontage. Inside, bare brick walls, big windows and cool lighting help to create a suitably relaxed feel.
Food is available right through the day, kicking off with breakfast and light lunches centred around open sandwiches, OB burgers and dishes like char-grilled lamb steak with black olive tapenade. Things move up a notch in the evening, when the menu is fleshed out with specialities such as duck breast with braised Savoy cabbage, pancetta and redcurrant jus plus desserts ranging from cheesecake to cappuccino and chocolate mousse cups.
Brunch is served until 4.00pm at weekends, and the well-chosen wine list features bottles from prestigious merchants Iverarity Vaults and Corney & Barrow.
There are two further branches of Olive Branch Bistro now open at 19 Colinton Road, Bruntsfield and 44-46 George IV Bridge.
