Review on Harry's Bar
Tucked away in cobbled Abchurch Yard, Harry's Bar has been a fixture of Central London's dining scene for more than 20 years. An emphasis on comfort and hospitality ensures that diners will quickly lose themselves in this convivial basement restaurant, with its serpentine layout and parquet floors.
The concise, yet beautifully crafted, menu offers a selection of modern European dishes, ranging from veal stuffed with Pecorino cheese with primavera sauce and saffron braised rice, to pan-fried calves liver with chorizo, sage and garlic and served with creamy mashed potatoes. The dessert menu takes on a distinctly British feel with its offerings of homemade plum crumble, apple and almond tart, and steamed lemon pudding. There is also a lighter canapé menu boasting some exquisite creations such as coriander and lemon chicken kebabs with harissa dip, and curried crab and mango chutney in a filo pastry basket.
The menu is rounded off with a superb wine list including some exceptionally fine Champagnes.
