Review on Miyako
Ultra-slick, with its floor-to-ceiling wood panels and chic table settings, Miyako represents Japan in the swish ANdAZ complex (formerly the Great Eastern Hotel, now re-branded by Hyatt Hotels).
The kitchen specialises in sushi, sashimi and tempura, which makes it ideal for quick City lunches. The range of fish is extensive, taking in everything from tuna and eel to horse mackerel and sea bream; you can also get a choice of maki rolls and 'inside-out' rolls, plus assorted teriyaki dishes, various salads and a few wild desserts such as sesame seed pannacotta or green tea cake with peanut ice cream.
Alternatively, go for one of the complete niku sakana lunches, which are served in lacquered bento boxes and can be ordered to takeaway. To drink, there's a decent choice of sakés, as well as Japanese beer and a carefully selected wine list.
