Review on Christopher's
Christopher's has been established in this majestic Grade II-listed building between Covent Garden and The Strand since 1991. Behind the glorious Victorian façade, you will find an ultra-cool Martini Bar. a premium drinks list, plus a menu of light brasserie-style dishes ranging from corn cakes with guacamole to Philadelphia steak sandwiches.
Head up a grand staircase to reach the high-ceilinged, first-floor dining room, which overlooks the action on Wellington Street. The kitchen's main inspiration comes from East Coast steakhouses and seafood bars, so expect a big choice including smoked duck Waldorf salad with spiced pecans, Maryland crab cakes and 'Grand Central Station' oyster and bay scallop roast, as well as mid-Western meatloaf, prime rib of beef and highly desirable Maine lobsters.
To finish there are wicked, fun desserts like passion fruit 'mirror' with poached strawberries and toffee wafer or bayleaf and chestnut honey parfait with chestnut candy and chocolate syrup. Christopher's is naturally a prime spot for theatre meals and off-peak brunches, too.
