Review on The Gun
There has been a public house on this Docklands site for over 250 years and it's still going strong, The Gun is now part of the Fullers group of pubs, set in a magnificent Grade II listed building.
Many of the original features have been retained, the floors are oak timbered and there are lots of cosy corners furnished with comfy Chesterfields. The kitchen deals in gastro pub dishes along the lines of smoked pigeon salad with quail's egg, pan-fried sea bass with cauliflower purée and osso buco sauce, sherry trifle and melon parfait with praline and melon salad.
The Gun also boasts a fantastic riverside terrace and an intimate private dining room, which is accessed via a hidden staircase that Admiral Nelson used when visiting Emma Hamilton for their secret assignations in this famous old building.
The Gun is also featured in: Michelin Guide, Hardens, AA Guide
