Review on Locks 1 Windsor Terrace
In September 2015 a new team took over the Locks Brasserie in the popular Portobello district of Dublin and renamed it Locks 1 Windsor Terrace. In an idyllic setting by the Grand Canal in Portobello the restaurant welcomes guests in a warm and inviting atmosphere.
Leading the kitchen is Connor O'Dowd, who previously plied his trade at esteemed restaurants such as Chapter One and he presents a modern Irish menu using the very best of local produce. Winners of "Best Emerging Irish Cuisine" at the RAI Awards 2016 the menu kicks off in true style with potted rabbit, pickled prune and Armagnac, carrot and caraway before a main course of roast partridge, parsnip, elderberries and black cabbage or from the sea cod, pointed cabbage, smoked mussels, potato and horseradish. To finish you can look forward to desserts like meadowsweet panna cotta, greengage and honeycomb or steamed pumpkin pudding and marmalade paired with pumpkin ice cream.
