Review on Cavistons Seafood Restaurant
Cavistons family-run food emporium has been dealing in comestibles, provisions, fresh fish and meat for more than 50 years and it continues to be a magnet for Dublin foodies on the lookout for something a bit different.
Right next to the shop is the convivial seafood restaurant - a relative newcomer to the scene, with little more than 10 years' trading under its belt. This is a daytime venue par excellence, serving fine fish in likeable - if slightly cramped - surroundings.
Menus change each day depending on the local catch, but typically robust offerings might include tranche of cod with mild curry sauce, roast monkfish with Dijon mustard mash and rosemary oil, or seared scallops with saffron and basil sauce. Kick off with a plate of Cavistons smoked salmon and finish with chocolate brownie or mango and passion fruit tart.
