Review on The Foresters
The Foresters occupies a smart 1930's building set in the heart of Farnham Common Village on the A335 Road, three miles north of Slough. It displays all the hallmarks of an inviting country pub, with a reputation for excellent cuisine using seasonally inspired local ingredients for an innovative menu. The well kept frontage with plenty of greenery leads to interiors offering a pleasing mix of modern and traditional décor. Comfy leather sofas and a blazing log fire are perfect for relaxing with a drink, while the main dining room is a stylish affair with glossy tables set with fashionable high-backed black chairs. During summer months you can take the opportunity of dining al fresco on their pretty decked terrace.
Typical offerings on the carte include a seafood salad consisting of wasabi and lime crayfish, tomato and avocado salsa and crab pate toast before a main course of lamb cutlets potato and celeriac terrine, pea parcels and eucalyptus jus or a whole sea bream, stuffed with aromatic herbs and cooked under a sea salt crust, served with a fennel salad. Also popular with diners are their mini dishes along the lines of prawn popcorn with sweet and sour sauce or maybe jam jar sausages with Dijon mustard. Desserts offer an enticing mix of flavours, witness chilli chocolate profiteroles filled with lemongrass cream or carrot and orange pudding, steamed pudding with carrot, orange and pecan nuts, cream cheese and cinnamon dusted carrot crisps.
