Review on Compasses Inn
The Compasses Inn at Damerham near Fordingbridge has stood for over 400 years and still retains the Olde Worlde feel. The open plan dining room with its cottage feel, wood panelled walls with large windows and patio doors leading to extensive gardens has pine tables, a wood-burning stove at one end and an open fire at the other. The atmosphere is warm, relaxed and informal, the perfect place for an intimate, romantic meal.
All dishes are freshly prepared using local produce where possible. There is an ever changing specials board with fresh fish and vegetarian dishes to add to your selection options and a good wine list of 49 different wines comprising both old and new world. They produce everything in house making their own pickles for ploughman’s and bread rolls. If you just want a snack they even have an innovative snack selection on the snack board.
Being a popular free house, The Compasses Inn also has an excellent choice of real ales, and over 120 malt whiskies.
