Review on Le Querce

This family-run 'ristorante and bruschetta bar' is on a mission to bring the true taste of Italian home cooking to the environs of Forest Hill. Le Querce ('the oak') is a neat and tidy, buzzy little place run by a team who have been involved with top London addresses such as Assaggi in Notting Hill and Metrogusto in Islington.

It goes without saying that breads, pasta, ice creams and such like are produced on the premises, and the friendly menu offers an array of full-flavoured dishes. Pizzas are available Tuesday to Thursday evenings and for Sunday lunch, while desserts are favourites like Ricotta cheesecake or organic Sorrento lemon tart topped with caramelised lemon zest. The food is backed by a decent little wine list, or you can BYO for a £2 corkage charge.
