Review on The Sands End
Reputedly a favourite with Princes William and Harry, this Fulham gastropub summons up all the rustic charm of a country boozer with its farmhouse tables, real ales, British food and contented dogs by the warming fire.
Loaves of freshly baked bread are piled on the bar, and you can snack your way through Scotch eggs, Welsh rarebit 'soldiers', jellied eels and plates of smoked sprats with your chosen tipple. The kitchen is keen to source locally for their earthy nose to tail eating with the use of The Sands End's allotment vegetables. Main courses offer line caught Dorset silver mullet, cauliflower, capers, home-made raisins or maybe slow cooked shoulder of Wiltshire Down Lands lamb, warm potato and olive oil salad. To finish there are delicious desserts such as fresh waffle, pistachios, honey and yoghurt ice cream or poached pear, almond milk ice cream and marzipan madeleine.
