Review on The Black Lion

A Hammersmith pub on the up since the arrival of new owners, the Black Lion is famed for its lavish riverside location just a few steps from the banks of the Thames and also for its massive, child-friendly beer garden (one of the most expansive in the neighbourhood). It also has its own car park - a rare sight in these parts.

Built on the site of a piggery some 200 years ago, it soon became renowned for its home-brewed beer and fine hospitality. Excellent real ales from other breweries now attract the drinkers, who crowd into low-ceilinged bar areas with their bare floorboards and panelling. Food is now served right throughout the day and the menu has a selection of great tapas as well as pub grub classics.
