To find this discreet little restaurant, you need turn off Holywood's main drag, down a narrow lane, then up a flight of stairs. Once inside, all is bright, cheerful and lively in the high-ceilinged, brightly painted dining room, which has French doors opening onto a little roof garden.
The kitchen deals in sunny Mediterranean dishes with clear natural flavours and a feel for the seasons. Crispy fried Mozzarella might be served with parsley pesto, tapenade and tomato, and there's also a summery tinge to artichoke risotto with thyme and fresh chillies. Moving on, you might encounter penne pasta with courgettes, basil and lemon, pork loin marinated in fennel, olive oil and garlic with spinach and buttery mash, or seared local venison with a pink peppercorn dressing. Desserts are equally sharp: coconut crème brûlée, lemon-scented bread-and-butter pudding, even apple crumble with ice cream.
